## Team Admin

The person who creates the team automatically becomes the Team Admin. This role has full control over every aspect of the team, including members, billing, plan management, and credit allocation. The Team Admin can also use Kombai and consume credits from the shared pool, just like any other member.

<Note>A Team Admin can also change their role to a Billing Admin. This will free-up a seat in the Teams plan if the Team Admin doesn't intend to use the Kombai IDE extension.</Note>

## Team Member

Team Members are added to the team through email invitations sent by a Team Admin or Billing Admin. Once they accept the invitation, they can use Kombai and draw credits from the shared pool.

<Note>All the existing credits of the Team Members and Team Admins are trasferred to the team's shared credit pool once they join the team.</Note>

Team Members cannot manage plan settings, billing, other members, or the plan. Their visibility is limited to their own usage data. A Team Member's status is either **Active** or **Pending**. Both states occupy a paid [seat](/kombai-for-teams/get-started/seats).

## Billing Admin

The Billing Admin role is designed for finance or operations personnel who need to manage billing and team administration without using Kombai directly. Billing Admins have the same administrative permissions as the Team Admin. They can invite and remove members, manage the plan, buy extra credits, and view team-wide usage. The only capability they lack is using Kombai itself.

Billing Admin seats are free and do not count toward the team's paid seat limit. However, you can only invite maximum 3 Billing Admins to your team.

<Note>A Billing Admin doesn't have access to the Kombai IDE extension. To use the extension, they need to change their role to a Team Admin.</Note>
