# Seats

> Understand how seats work in Kombai for Teams.

A seat represents one slot for an active team member. The number of seats determines how many people can be part of the team at any given time.

## How seats are counted

The following table shows which roles count toward the seat limit and their associated cost.

| Role | Counts toward seat limit | Cost |
| :------------ | :----------------------- | :--------------- |
| Team Admin    | Yes                      | `$10/seat/month` |
| Team Member   | Yes                      | `$10/seat/month` |
| Billing Admin | No                       | -                |

<Note>
  You can invite up to 3 Billing Admins for your team.
</Note>

Invited members occupy a seat the moment the invitation is sent, regardless of whether they have accepted it.

## Seat capacity and invites

When all seats are occupied, Kombai disables the **Invite Member** button and displays a banner: *"All seats are occupied. Buy more seats to invite additional members."* You must purchase additional seats before inviting new team members. The **Invite Billing Admin** option remains available since Billing Admins do not consume seats.
