Kombai can launch, access, and operate a Chrome browser, enabling you to test development websites & web applications, and perform automated browser-based operations. The Kombai agent operates within its own dedicated browser profile to keep it separate from your regular web browsing. As a result, it appears as a distinct application in your dock and won’t have any of your accounts logged in. You can manually perform browser operations using element selection tools using the Kombai Browser Extension or let Kombai autonomously control the browser to perform tasks and test applications.

Launch Kombai Browser

If you want Kombai to autonomously control the browser, you can ask Kombai in the chat to perform your task in the browser. However, if you want to use the element selection tools, you have to launch the Kombai Browser through either of the following methods:
Follow the steps below to launch Kombai Browser without running a specific project:
  1. Click the
    icon in the chat input box.
  2. Click the
    icon.
Follow the steps below to preview your project in the Kombai Browser:
  1. Click the Run Project button located below the chat input. This signals Kombai to start your local development server.
  2. Once the server is running, a localhost link will appear in the chat stream.
  3. Click the link to load your project’s preview in the Kombai Browser.
To open the Kombai Browser without running a specific project immediately, click the
icon in the chat input box and then click the
icon.
By default, all links in Kombai’s chat stream opens in the Kombai Browser.
Kombai automatically downloads the browser when you launch Kombai for the first time in your IDE.
