What you can find
The library and its categories are updated regularly, so the options you see may change over time.
Open Inspirations
You can open “Inspirations” from four places:- From chat: Click Inspirations below the chat input.
- From the right panel: In the desktop app, open the right panel and select the Inspirations tab.
- From a Canvas: Click Inspirations in the Canvas actions bar to open the library as a panel beside your designs. From there you can drag a design straight onto the Canvas, or click it, without leaving the Canvas.
- From “/Find Inspirations” Skill: Click any item Kombai links in a conversation to open its detail page. To reach the main library from there, click Inspirations in the top breadcrumb bar. See Ask Kombai to find inspirations.
Ask Kombai to find inspirations
Instead of browsing the library yourself, you can ask Kombai to search it for you:- In the chat box, type
/and pick Find Inspirations (under Design Skills). - Describe what you’re looking for (e.g., “dark fintech dashboard” or “editorial hero with serif type”). Kombai will search the library and display matching items directly in the chat.
- Click a link to open that item’s detail page, where you can Refer it into chat or save it to a canvas.
Find the right reference
Browse or search the library to narrow the results by platform, collection, and category:- Open the Inspirations page.
- Select a platform using the Web / Mobile toggle.
- Filter by category using the category pills above the grid. Click an active pill again to deselect it and clear the filter.
- Click Show All to open the search modal. Search by keyword, or filter by category type (Pages & screens, Sections & components, or Animations) to browse specific categories.
Explore an item
Click a card to open its detail view:- Breadcrumb: Click the root breadcrumb at the top left to return to the listing.
- Preview & Action bar: A full preview of the design with a persistent bottom bar containing item metadata, Live preview (opens the original site in a new tab when available), Refer, and Save to canvas.
- About this design (How this animation works for animations): A breakdown of the design’s style, layout, components, and vibe below the preview, along with color swatches.
design.md file. You can click Copy file to copy the design instructions for your own prompt or workspace.
Use an item
Hover over any card in the Inspirations page (or use the bottom action bar in detail view) to choose how you want to use the design:- Refer: Inserts the item into the chat as a reference alongside its matching skill.
- Save to canvas: Opens a dropdown to import the design directly onto a new or existing canvas without modifying your chat.
Refer a landing page
- Filter the library for Landing Pages.
- Hover over a landing page card and click Refer. This adds the landing page to your chat along with Remix Design skill.
- Describe the product or use case you want to create a landing page for, e.g., “Remix this into a landing page for a meal-kit delivery service.” Kombai will adapt the design to your prompt while keeping the original structure and visual direction.
Refer an app page, section, or component
- Filter the library for App Pages or Sections & Components.
- Hover over a card and click Refer. This adds the design to your chat as a visual reference.
- Tell Kombai whether to use it as loose inspiration or adapt it closely, e.g., “Use this settings page as a reference for an account-security page in my product’s design system.”
Refer an animation
- Filter the library for Animations.
- Hover over a card to preview its motion, then click Refer. This adds the animation and its matching skill to your chat.
- Describe the target element and motion you want, e.g., “Apply this reveal to the feature cards in the selected landing-page design.”
