Design Settings give you control over how thoroughly Kombai explores and refines designs during generation.

Variants

Variants determine how many independent design options Kombai generates in a single prompt. Instead of producing one result, Kombai creates multiple versions. Each version takes a different visual direction, so you can compare and pick the one that fits best. You can set the number of variants to 1, 2, or 3.

Passes

Passes determine how many times Kombai iterates on and refines each generated design. On each pass, Kombai reviews and improves the previous result — tightening spacing, improving visual hierarchy, and making the design more polished. You can set the number of passes to 1, 2, or 3. When multiple passes are selected, only the final result is shown.

Configure Design Settings

Both settings are accessible from the chat box.
  1. In the chat box, click the button to open the Design Settings popover.
  2. Open the Variations dropdown and select 1, 2, or 3.
  3. Open the Passes dropdown and select 1, 2, or 3.
