Kombai extracts a Design System from the design language you already use, such as your codebase, Figma files, a live website, or designs on your canvas.
Generate from your sources
- On the Design Systems page, click + Create to open the Create your design system page.
- Add one or more sources.
- (Optional) In Optional notes, describe anything the Design System should focus on, such as your brand’s tone or a color palette you prefer.
- Click Create design system.
You can also open the page from the chat input: click the
icon, then click + Create in the Design System popover. If you don’t have
any Design Systems yet, click Create design system on the Design Systems
page.
Sources
Import a design system file
Use this to add a .ds file someone shared with you, without regenerating it.
- On the Design Systems page, click + Create.
- Below the form, next to Already have a .ds file?, click Import it.
- Browse to the
.ds file to add it to your Design Systems.
Copy a public Design System
Use this to start from one of the curated Design Systems on the Public design systems tab instead of generating your own.
- On the Design Systems page, open the Public design systems tab.
- Select the Design System you want from the left panel, then click Add to My design systems above its spec.
